Do you think you know what AI is?
AI has come to take the digital world by storm. Companies and users alike are using AI to create digital content from scratch just by providing a few prompts to the program. L&D is not the exception, but with so many businesses offering AI products to create and curate learning programmes, it is worth stopping for a moment and checking how can we make the most of AI software. In that sense, it is critical to go one step back and ask ourselves: do we really understand what AI is?
For this month's newsletter, we decided to go back to the core understanding of AI, compare it with other similar concepts, such as machine learning, and explore we as L&D providers can make the most of AI software in our products. If we understand the concept of AI from the very beginning, not only will we be able to provide accurate information to stakeholders and collaborators, but we will also be able to tackle the misconceptions, fears, and myths around AI.

How to Build your Critical AI Thinking Wheel | Alex Jaimes | TEDxRoma Today's society uses AI in ways that have become automatic and imperceptible, like using a GPS to drive to a new restaurant or swiping on a dating app. However, it also plays a vital role in saving our lives when the stakes are high. For these decisions at a large scale, we need to learn to coexist with an exponentially-increasing technology in the most efficient way possible, a way that adds a critical dimension to our own decision-making process. Among the first in the world Artificial Intelligence experts, Scientific Director and SVP of Artificial Intelligence at Dataminr, Alex has always worked to bring to life products that put humans at the centre of the experience with machines. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. |
